Purpose of the position

The incumbent is primarily responsible for implementing security solutions, administering them and monitoring information assets to ensure the security, availability, integrity and confidentiality of data. He must also exercise an “expert-consultant” role within his section and his management.

Tasks

  • Ensure the availability, integrity and confidentiality of Commission data.
  • Process and follow up on change requests, access requests and security incidents.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and reliability of security tools and monitor their technical development and deployment.
  • Perform monitoring of security events of systems and equipment.
  • Proactively address security issues, anticipate risks and provide required solutions; contribute to the development of new ways of doing things.
  • Provide technical assistance in IT security to the Commission.
  • Analyze and understand the Commission’s information security needs.
  • Ensure IT security monitoring and report any threats related to system security.
  • Conduct periodic security assessments to ensure that applications, systems and equipment are not vulnerable.
  • Carry out and/or assist in the implementation of security controls, methods, tools and devices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge in his/her field of expertise; raise awareness and provide training in IT security to Commission employees.
  • Participate in any project or activity where their expertise is required.
  • Develops or participates in the drafting of different types of documents and reports.
  • Prepare and/or participate in different types of meetings (e.g.: team meeting, coordination meeting, working committee, workshop, etc.).
  • Contributes to process improvement while maintaining up-to-date and adequate documentation.
  • Feeds the business intelligence of his section and his Management (e.g.: suggests avenues for improvement, new techniques).
  • Trains new security analysts on the job.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Requirements

  • Hold a college diploma (DEC) with specialization in computer science or another relevant specialization or an attestation of college studies (AEC) in computer science or another relevant specialization or an attestation of studies whose equivalence is recognized by the competent authority.

And

  • Have five (5) years of relevant experience in IT security

And

  • Certification Certified information Systems Security Profesionnal (CISSP)

or

  • Certification Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)
  • Any other relevant IT security certifications will be considered.
