Position Title: Potato Receiver
Position Type: Regular – Full-Time

Summary: Reporting into the Potato Receiving Supervisor, the Potato Receiving Labourer is responsible for managing all incoming production materials.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities:
- Capable of operating all potato receiving equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Have a sense of urgency and flexibility regarding production demands.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
- Complete and react to Total Quality Control (MQP) procedures and check sheets.
- Must perform housekeeping of work area to maintain established standards.
- Maintain Main-Line and Bi-Line KW’s
- Do Gravity and Color tests, break Grader when needed.
- Capability of entering data into PC&R
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- High school graduate and can perform basic mathematical calculations
- Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on a rotating shift basis
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organization skills
- Must be willing to work in a team-based atmosphere
- Able to work in extreme temperatures, high humidity and dusty conditions.
- Capable of monitoring equipment operations and trouble shooting.
- Thorough understanding of WHIMIS, plant sanitation requirements, industrial chemicals and HACCP.
- Must be capable and comfortable working with chemicals.
Required Length, Type of Experience & Licenses (if applicable)
- Must be willing to successfully complete Forklift, Personal Fall Protection and Scissor/Boom Lift training (minimum height requirement 20’). Must be able operate this equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Physical Requirements
- Physically capable of performing all required duties including some heavy lifting (up to 50lbs).
Hourly Rate
- Start Rate: $26.73
- After 6 months: $27.99
